Initial Consultation

Every new design project begins with an initial consultation where we discuss your vision for the project, including: goals, inspiration, priorities, and budget. This consultation is where we get to know one another and determine a style and desired outcome for the project. From this meeting we will be able to make recommendations for next steps and provide further detail about the design process for your unique project.

Design Brief & Scope of Work

Pre-existing architectural drawings will be referenced to complete new concepts and apply for project permits. At this time we will confirm dimensions, complete a site measure to document all existing elements and take photographs for future reference. From this information we will create a design brief that clearly outlines the scope of work.

design phase

Angelique will create design concepts that are tailored to making your space personal, functional and beautiful. A deep understanding of our clients’ style of living contributes to the longevity of our designs. All drawings and visuals are done by hand, to scale and specifically tailored to the project. A Design Package will be created to include an outline of the scope of work, floor plans, layouts, elevation drawings and any preliminary finish selections.

concept Presentation

At this stage Angelique will walk you through all the drawings, ideas and concepts in visual form. We will discuss the drawings in detail and any revisions will be determined. Furniture layouts and selections may be discussed and included at this time as they play a large role when considering the space design. We will then create a final set of drawings that reflect any revisions that have been made to the initial concept.

Finish Selection & Sourcing

Once the final drawings have been approved we will make the finish selections. Angelique will guide you through making selections that fit within your budget, meet functional requirements and create the desired aesthetic for the spaces. This can happen in a variety of ways depending on your desired level of involvement. Our goal is to streamline and simplify the process, making it easier for our clients to make informed decisions.

Contractors & Quotes

With the final drawings, product selections and costing quotes, we will have a complete Design Package that contractors can work from to accurately, determine the cost and timeline for the project. We can assist with finding and obtaining quotes from contractors, trades and suppliers that we trust but are also happy to work with contractors brought forward by the client.

construction phase

We are available to provide design support throughout the construction process. This is to ensure that all design intentions and details are clear and that communication between the teams flows effectively. In our experience, working together with the crew and clients as a team delivers the best possible outcome and allows the design to be realized in its full potential.

Finishing & Styling

One of the most rewarding parts of a project is seeing the space when it is really finished. This step is where everything comes together for a finished look. Our services include: sourcing and procuring new furniture and accessories, as well as placing and styling furniture, art, area rugs, window coverings, and accessories.

Case Study: The art of HAND DRAWN plans

The act of designing through drawing is something I take great pleasure in and it is deeply engrained in my process. I am trained to draw this way and have loved architectural drawing since long before I became a designer. Each time I look forward to brewing a cup of tea, turning on some music, and clicking on my desk light as I sit down to draw.

As I draw I am imagining my clients using each space; taking great care to consider who they are and how they move. The design becomes more intimate and personal because I’m doing it by hand and attending to these unique details. It’s a manifestation of how people move and live in their homes. It represents the humans and honours the space in a concrete, beautiful and creative way.
