Terwillegar Beauty With Purpose

Large Renovation

“Fresh bright spaces that flowed, more storage and useable space was what this busy family of five wanted.”

To come into the new era this early 90’s home needed a full overhaul to escape dusty pink, brass and columns. Fresh bright spaces that flowed, more storage and usable space was what this busy family of five wanted.

Reconfiguring the kitchen and changing the island shape, transforming the walk-in pantry, adding strategic lighting, using full height upper cabinets, and adding built-in bench storage seating at the kitchen table eating nook improved the kitchen area usage and flow. Removing the existing gas fireplace with its crazy glass block, brass, and rounded corner façade allowed us to set the stage for the new family room off the kitchen. The new gas fireplace has built-in storage and display, a shiplap and natural wood façade and some great light fixtures.

A variety of natural textures in the finishes, furniture and décor as well as mixing old and new make the house feel soulful, fresh, functional and inviting with lots of places to gather together.
